How did I get here

I grew up in rural Finland surrounded by forests. Knitting is part of our school curriculum so I learned to knit from a young age. But it wasn’t until my early 20s when I really caught the knitting bug. I could be seen knitting during lectures at University and on long haul flights. My passion for knitting has never dimmed, but I had to put knitting on the backburner when I started my creative business in 2019. I was making items to sell and selling hand knitted items just isn’t a viable business idea – if you are a hand knitter you know the time that it takes to make things and add to that the cost of natural materials. So I was sewing and needlefelting under my old business name, Blue Van Lady (yes I have a blue van, and no I am not really a lady!). Helping a friend at Yarndale 2022 got me thinking. My calling to work with wool and knitting was stronger than ever and around a campfire one night an idea sparked. Listening to knitters explain how they had to give up on their beloved hobby because of achy fingers and wrists made me really sad. As a qualified yoga teacher and practitioner of 30 years I thought I could help! I specialised in yoga for arthritis and started putting togehter an idea of writing patterns with incorporated yoga&movement videos. And here I am from a Finnish forest into the Welsh wilderness sharing my passion for movement and knitting.
